Empowering Service Users to Shine
Dare to Dream, Dare to Imagine, Dare to Try
The Richmond Fellowship of Hong Kong has been consistently applying the ‘strength-based’ approach and adopting artistic methods to uncover the potential and talents of the service users, thereby enhancing their self-confidence and capabilities, and strengthening their resilience on the recovery journey.
The ‘Empowering Service Users to Shine’ talent performance was launched as the kick-off ceremony of the Agency's 40th anniversary celebration. It aimed to establish a platform for the service users to discover and showcase their talents. A total of 30 participants from different service units of the Agency went through 5 Zoom rehearsals, 2 training day camps, and one competition.
The participants demonstrated an overall positive and engaged attitude throughout the practicing process. They managed to overcome the variables and challenges encountered. On the show day, over 200 on-site and online audiences witnessed the participants to express themselves through diverse presentations.
Through the affirmation and recognition from the mentors, colleagues, peers, and the audience, the participants' self-confidence was boosted, and their talents were validated. At the same time, the event also allowed them to better understand the Agency's operations and our dedication put into the services.
