ALOHA (Eastern)

“ALOHA”aims to provide one-stop, district-based and accessible community support and social rehabilitation
services for ex-mentally ill persons, people with suspected mental health problem and their family
members/carers as well as local residents living in the serving district.

Scope of Services

Services of “ALOHA” include:

  • Drop-in services;
  • Case counseling and group works;
  • Outreaching services;
  • Networking activities such as social and recreational activities;
  • Day training and programmes;
  • Occupational therapy assessment and training;
  • Psychological services;
  • Peer support services;
  • Family support services;
  • Public education programmes on mental health;
  • Referral to the Community Psychiatric Service of Hospital Authority for assessment or
    treatment; and
  • Referral or liaison with community resources and other social welfare services.

 

Target Group

The target groups of “ALOHA” are preferably those are residing in the serving district (Wong Tai Sin or Chai
Wan and Siu Sai Wan):

  • Persons in mental recovery and persons with suspected mental health problems aged 15 or above;
  • Secondary school students in need of community mental health support services;
  • Family members and carers of the above service users;
  • Local residents with interest in improving their mental health; and
  • Residents with mental health problems or suspected mental health problems living in the private residential care homes for persons with disabilities.

 

Application Procedure

The applicant could be:

  • Self approach,
  • Referred by social workers, psychiatrists, allied health workers or staff of government departments.

 

Exit from Service

Service users may exit from the service under the following conditions:

  • The user has received service for a period of time, is mentally stable & functioning well and
    requiring no further ICCMW service;
  • The user has admitted to subvented halfway house or long stay care home;
  • The user is admitted to psychiatric hospital;
  • The user is persistently unmotivated to receive ICCMW service;
  • Self-withdrawal;
  • Untraceable.

 

Fees

The service is free of charge. Particular programmes/activities will be charged depends on the
arrangement.

 

Staffing

The professional team includes registered social workers, nurse (psychiatric), occupational therapist,
clinicial psychologist etc.
