Mental health talk in school: Enhance better understanding and maintaining mental wellness in students
Mental health talk in school: Enhance better understanding and maintaining mental wellness in students

“Love Neighbor” Youth Mental Health Project has received a wide range of support and recognition from the participating schools. The positive feedback has encouraged us to take a great stride and expand our service to reach primary schools as well.

Background

“ Love Neighbor” Project has received wide support and recognition from the participated students, teachers and schools since its establishment. These positive feedbacks encourage us to take a great stride and expand our service to primary schools. We have already worked with over 100 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, with hopes of strengthening teenagers’ communication and co-operation abilities and skills, enhancing their knowledge on mental health and encouraging them to contribute proactively in volunteer work. In future, we aim at maintaining a leading place on prevention and early intervention through developing a professional mental health education.

Objectives

  • To enhance children, teenagers, parents and youth workers’ knowledge on mental health;
  • To promote children and teenagers’ mutual understanding and acceptance of the less advantaged groups in the society;
  • To provide emotion education and growth training groups for children and teenagers who require special education needs in emotion management and their family, so as to enhance their resilience;
  • To assist children and teenagers improving their mental health and caring to others and themselves through voluntary services.
